On Thursday, February 20, the kick-off meeting of the CONNATURALP project (CONnecting NATURe and heALth in the AlPs) took place in Spert, in the heart of Alpago, with the participation of all partners involved in this ambitious cross-border initiative.
The meeting marked a crucial moment for officially launching the project activities, funded by the Interreg VI-A Italy-Austria 2021-2027 Cooperation Program, which aims to promote an integrated approach to ecosystem health and human well-being through Nature-based Therapies (NbTs).
During the day, representatives of all project partners discussed the strategic objectives and operational methods to achieve them. A central moment of the kick-off was dedicated to the detailed presentation of the five Work Packages (WPs) structuring the project. Each WP leader outlined the planned activities and timelines, defining a clear and shared path for the next two years of work.
The Spert kick-off meeting laid the foundation for a cross-border collaboration that brings together diverse expertise — from scientific research to protected area management — with the common goal of developing innovative strategies to protect both Alpine ecosystems and the health of the people who live in and visit them.
